Used for soil and bedrock investigations in boreholes. The area of investigation is a cylinder shaped volume around the borehole with a radius of 10-100m (dependent on electrical properties of the media).

Common applications include: fracture, cavity and void detection; flow path analysis; localization of "lost" boreholes; delineation of ores; earth dam investigations, foundation engineering, contamination transportation; etc.

The RAMAC/GPR borehole system is the only commercially available borehole radar system in the world that can perform surveys deeper than 30 meters.

In fact, RAMAC borehole systems have successfully done measurements in boreholes deeper than 1500m.

Common measurement methods includes borehole reflection, borehole tomography and borehole to surface measurements.
